Ramna Park

Dhaka · 23.739554, 90.398192

About

Ramna Park offers a green walking stop in central Dhaka, with trees, a lake and paths that make a change from the surrounding streets. It is also associated with the Bengali New Year celebrations at Ramna Batamul. A short visit works well alongside a Shahbagh museum or university-area itinerary. This is an urban park visit, rather than a forest trek; choose a manageable loop and leave time to return to your entrance.

How to reach

Travel towards Shahbagh or Matsya Bhaban and check the nearest open park gate on Maps. Shahbagh metro station is an approach option. The pin marks a photographed point inside the park, not a vehicle entrance. Agree any last-mile rickshaw fare before boarding.

Best time

Choose cooler daylight hours for walking. Carry rain protection in wet weather; paths can be slippery. For New Year events, check the specific year’s access and security arrangements rather than assuming ordinary entry.

Where to stay

A day visit usually fits a Dhaka itinerary without a dedicated overnight stop. Visitors staying in the city should compare their actual onward route, total room rate and cancellation terms directly with accommodation providers.

Food

Plan a meal break outside the park around Shahbagh or a later stop. Check the gate’s current food rules; no specific restaurant, menu or price has been verified for this guide. Carry drinking water.

Travel carefully

Keep to paths, leave plants undisturbed and take rubbish away. Note your gate on arrival and arrange the return pickup outside it. Opening hours can change; follow posted instructions. The 2018 photograph is a place reference, not a current-condition report.

Return journey

Return to the entrance agreed with your driver; keep traffic delays in the day plan.
