Pakutia Zamindar Bari

Tangail · 24.021081, 89.987906

About

Three neighbouring mansions are the defining sight at Pakutia Zamindar Bari in Nagarpur, Tangail. Look closely at the floral ornament, columns and rooftop figures to compare the buildings. The district portal dates their construction to 1915 and records the later establishment of BCRG College on the estate. The grounds are also used by the college, so ask permission before exploring and keep paths clear when classes are in progress.

How to reach

From Dhaka, use the road approach through Kalampur and Saturia towards Pakutia market. Before booking a bus, confirm its actual destination and drop-off. From Tangail town, another approach runs through Delduar and Lauhati. Ask locally for the visitor entrance to the palace grounds used by BCRG College. Current fares are not verified here.

Best time

November–February is a weather-based suggestion for cooler, drier daylight viewing of the exteriors. Avoid midday heat in March–May and prepare for rain and slippery paths during the monsoon. Ask about visitor access around college classes or exams.

Where to stay

This can be a day-trip stop. For an overnight journey, choose accommodation around your onward route and confirm room rates, check-in and cancellation terms directly.

Food

Arrange water and a meal break around your journey through Pakutia or Saturia. Check the actual shop’s menu and cleanliness; no specific business or price is endorsed here.

Travel carefully

Keep out of classrooms and staff-only spaces. Do not touch fragile ornament, lean on old railings or climb deteriorated structures. The 2020 photograph records the estate at that time; conditions can change.

Return journey

Identify your return boarding point at Pakutia market before entering. Arrange the connection through Saturia–Kalampur for Dhaka or Lauhati–Delduar for Tangail, and check the actual last departure locally.

visit

Ask the college about access, then examine the exterior ornament of the three palace buildings. If permitted, continue to the natmandir and Kali temple. Pause by the pond without climbing deteriorated steps or railings. This is a suggested sequence, not a guarantee of entry to every area.
