Murapara Rajbari

Narayanganj · 23.7786, 90.520461

About

Murapara Rajbari in Rupganj, Narayanganj, is a historic mansion complex associated with the Banerjee family. Ornamental buildings and ponds give an architectural focus to a day visit. Government Murapara College operates here, so public access should respect campus activities and the condition of older structures.

How to reach

From the Sayedabad, Jatrabari or Gulistan side of Dhaka, choose a road connection to Bhulta or Rupshi. Confirm the bus route and drop-off before boarding, then arrange local transport to the palace grounds used by Government Murapara College. Show the exact pin and agree the fare; older ferry routes and prices are not adopted as current facts.

Best time

November–February is a weather-based suggestion for cooler, drier daylight walks around the exteriors and ponds. In hot weather prefer morning or afternoon; watch slippery paths in the monsoon. Visitor access may vary around Government Murapara College classes, exams and holidays.

Where to stay

This can be a day-trip stop. For an overnight journey, choose accommodation around your onward route and confirm room rates, check-in and cancellation terms directly.

Food

Plan a meal stop along your Rupganj route and carry water. Choose food after checking the seller’s menu and hygiene; no restaurant rating or price has been verified here.

Travel carefully

Avoid closed rooms, fragile stairs and roof access. Ask before photographing people or teaching areas. The licensed 2015 photograph shows an older part of the complex and should not be read as its current condition.

Return journey

Arrange the transfer back to Bhulta or Rupshi before leaving the grounds. Confirm the actual boarding point and departure for your Dhaka connection. Do not rely on an unfamiliar ferry route at the last moment.
