Chandranath Hill and Temple

Chattogram · 22.6335612, 91.6844272

About

Chandranath in Sitakunda combines a steep hill walk with an active Hindu pilgrimage landscape. The temples and hill views give the route its identity, but this is a sacred place rather than an adventure playground. Plan around your fitness, permission and daylight, leaving enough energy for the descent.

How to reach

Travel to Sitakunda, then arrange the last-mile journey towards Chandranath Dham/Temple Road and confirm the permitted starting point. The pin identifies the temple area, not a road reaching the summit. Confirm any bus or train stop before booking; a Chattogram service does not automatically stop at Sitakunda.

Best time

Prefer dry daylight conditions. Wet steps and slopes can be slippery; postpone the climb during heavy rain or thunderstorms. Religious festivals can change crowd levels and access, so check the relevant year’s arrangements.

Where to stay

For an overnight itinerary, compare accommodation in Sitakunda or Chattogram against your onward route. Confirm rooms, total price and cancellation terms directly; no property availability is promised.

Food

Carry enough drinking water and a light snack rather than relying on shops higher up. Plan a meal after returning to Sitakunda and keep all packaging with you.

Travel carefully

Respect worship, dress and photography instructions. Do not rappel, climb barriers or enter closed paths. Use footwear with grip and keep hands free on steep sections. The 2019 landscape photograph is not a current trail-condition report.

Return journey

Agree the return vehicle and pickup point in advance; keep daylight and weather in the return plan.
